Harmony Across Species

Exploring interspecies connection through music, presence, and care

Harmony Across Species is a music project exploring gentle encounters between humans and animals through sound, presence, and attentive listening. Rooted in care for animal welfare and respect for nature, the project creates quiet musical moments in farms, sanctuaries, ranches, and other animal-centered spaces.

At the heart of the project is the idea that music can offer a soft form of connection across species. Through live playing and, at times, voice, I bring slow, attentive sound into animal environments in a way that does not demand interaction, but leaves space for choice, curiosity, distance, or stillness. The animals’ responses guide the moment. Some may come closer, some may remain at a distance, some may appear calm or attentive, and some may simply continue in their own rhythm. All of these responses are valid and respected.

This project is guided by a sensitivity to stress, environment, and wellbeing. In spaces where animals may experience uncertainty, recovery, confinement, overstimulation, or emotional tension, gentle music can contribute to a calmer atmosphere and a quieter shared experience. The intention is not to impose sound, but to offer a peaceful presence shaped by observation, care, and respect. Harmony Across Species also aims to support sanctuaries and animal care spaces by bringing visibility to their work through artistic collaboration and respectful documentation. Through recordings and shared moments, the project invites wider audiences to see animals not only as beings we care for, but as beings with perception, individuality, and presence.

Each encounter is adapted to the setting, the guidance of caregivers, and most importantly the comfort of the animals themselves. Their welfare comes first. The project grows through listening, patience, and the hope that music can create moments of calm, connection, and mutual presence across species. I am interested in collaborating with sanctuaries, farms, rescue centers, ranches, and other animal-centered spaces that value calm, respectful interaction. Each visit can take the form of a quiet live session, a filmed encounter, or a small artistic collaboration, always adapted to the needs of the place and the wellbeing of the animals.
