Ezgi Berberoğlu

I’m Ezgi Berberoğlu, a Zurich-based musician performing on yaylı tanbur and kamancha. My work is rooted in listening, expression, and musical dialogue, and moves between tradition and contemporary collaboration.

I am especially drawn to the expressive, voice-like quality of bowed instruments and to creating atmospheres that invite depth, nuance, and connection. In my performances, I explore repertoire, improvisation, and intercultural encounters in ways that remain respectful to tradition while staying open to new contexts.

I perform in different formats — from intimate solo sets to ensemble projects, collaborations with musicians from different backgrounds, and performances for cultural events. My artistic practice is shaped by curiosity, sensitivity to space, and the wish to create meaningful musical moments for audiences.
